Bocketts Farm is the ideal venue for a school visit which is both educational and fun! Spring & Autumn Terms are the most quiet times to visit. If you wish to bring a group in the Summer Term try to book before March to ensure the date you want. Booking coaches can also be a problem if you leave it too late!

Bookings should be made provisionally by telephone. A £20 deposit is then required to confirm the booking. You will then be sent a receipt and booking confirmation.

When booking your coach always get confirmation in writing from the coach company.

Most schools arrive at about 10 am when we open, and leave at 2 or 2.30 pm after their picnic lunch. Tours and activities fill most of the morning, with free time for play at the end of the morning, before or after lunch. Nursery or pre school groups do not usually have a farm tour and therefore have longer free time.

Undercover Areas are provided for picnic lunches.

To help group organisers with their risk assessments a list of possible hazards and a copy of our safety talk is provided with your booking confirmation. Teachers are welcome to come to the farm prior to their visit, free of charge.

Our Teachers packs have been recently updated. There is a whole new set aimed at Key Stage 1, attainment targets 1-3, which includes an introduction to sustainable development for a mixed farm. This concept will also be covered in our farm tours. The new packs cost £4.95 including postage.

Each year we hold a competition for schools to make us the scariest scarecrow.

The prize is a free school visit in the autumn term for a class of up to 40 children.
