Doing Our Bit For The Environment
At Bocketts Farm we are committed to making the farm and our attraction as sustainable as possible. We understand the responsibility we have in minimising our impact on the environment and educating our young visitors too.
What Does Sustainability Mean At Bocketts Farm?
Renewable Energy – We have invested in a biomass boiler and significant solar panels
Reduce Waste – We aim to minimise, recycle and reuse waste where possible
Conserve Water – we have 15,000L of rainwater storage for toilet flushing!
Mindful purchasing – Buying locally and ethically where possible
Regenerative farming – we are committed to low impact farming practices and improving biodiversity
Sustainable Initiatives
Our 60kW biomass boiler heats our large indoor play barns, hand washes and offices across the Farm Park. In 2024, we installed an additional 100 solar PV panels, bringing our total to 80kW across two arrays. In the summer months, we can often be self-sufficient for energy use!
We use low energy lightbulbs, motion sensors and timers to cut energy use and our taps are fitted with valves to reduce water waste.
Under the Sustainable Farming Initiative we have sown 180 acres of herbal leys. In early 2024 we also planted 7,500 hedging whips and 24 specimen trees to create 1,200M of new hedgerow. This hedgerow will improve habitats, enhance biodiversity, benefit our livestock to provide shelter and shade and help offset our carbon emissions.
Our commitment to recycling extends across our site with collection of plastic, cardboard, glass, packaging and food waste.

Our Goals
We remain committed to reviewing and improving our processes to ensure they are relevant and best practice. We will continue to invest in energy saving projects and will always consider renewable and other activities to reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint.
As an attraction, we endeavour to use our influence to educate and engage our young visitors in how they can act responsibly for the environment. In addition, we train and develop our team to conduct their work in line with our sustainability policy and goals.

Award Winning Sustainability
In January 2025, we were absolutely thrilled to be presented with the NFAN Highly Commended award for Sustainability.
The National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN), with over 300 members, unites the farm attractions industry, with the annual awards celebrating the best of the industry across the UK.
We were up against some amazing attractions across the country so we were incredibly proud to be recognised for our achievements in sustainability. As always, we are thankful to our brilliant team for their dedication to sustainable practices.
